Hello fellow CACE members!

I hope you were able to take a much-deserved rest during the Easter long weekend.

We have some important information to share as we head into May. Please take a moment to read the following updates about our 2022 National Conference, BRAVO! Award submissions and a new addition to our executive team.

SAVE THE DATE! We are excited to officially announce that we will be hosting our first in-person National Conference since 2019 in beautiful Victoria, BC, running Oct. 22 to October 24, 2022.

We know you will want to start making travel plans and we are working to confirm final conference details. Stay tuned for an update with much more information soon.

BRAVO! Awards

It’s that time of year again when CACE members should be seriously considering which communications projects may be appropriate for a BRAVO! Awards submission.

What are the projects you are most proud of in the past year? We anticipate opening up the 2022 awards program by June 1, 2022. Stay tuned for more information, and in the meantime, you may wish to block off some time this spring to work on your submissions and put your best foot forward.

Introducing Our Newest CACE Executive Member

I also want to welcome Darcy Knoll, our newest CACE Executive member who will be in charge of Professional Learning.

Darcy is the Communications Coordinator with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, a position he has held since 2019. Darcy previously served as the CACE co-regional liaison for Ontario.

We thank Darcy for joining our team and volunteering his time and talent to support the professional development of our members.

While we return to more normal routines in our districts and schools and get ready to enjoy all the celebrations that come in the final months of the school year, we are still reminded that the pandemic continues on across the globe. We are also reminded of how fortunate we are to be living in a country free of the atrocities of war.

My thoughts go out to all that are affected. Please take care.

I look forward to seeing you IRL this October!

Sincerely,

Dale Burgos
CACE President
